Biography

Nicole Marie Rizzuto, Ph.D., completed her doctorate in history and culture at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. Her dissertation focuses on the fictional trope of Dead Lesbian Syndrome and its impact on lesbian identities from the late 1890s to the end of World War II. Rizzuto’s research interests include anglophone lesbian subcultures, the history of censorship, the African diaspora, and modern feminist thought. She currently serves as the development manager of engagement and advancement at Point Foundation. Rizzuto has taught at Hudson County Community College, New Jersey City.
